Registered home sales during the first quarter increased 13.6% over the previous quarter
18th June 2021To follow the monthly series launched from the first state of alarm, data from the Real Estate Registry Statistics for the month of March are included below, relative to registered sales and mortgages, by comparing data with the same month of the previous year . In the comparisons, the monthly data for March 2019 is entered in order to also compare the data for 201 with the "usual" data in the same month of the year before the pandemic.
In March, the number of total sales have increased by 37.6% compared to March 2020, going from 67,539 in March 2020 to 92,936 in March of this year, thus showing an increase of more than 25,000 operations, a consequence of the stoppage of activity in March 2020. The comparison of this month with the same period of 2019, that is, two years earlier, also showed an increase of 12.7%. Regarding home sales, the number of operations in March 2021 was 43,863 compared to 22,006 in the same month of the previous year, which represents an increase of 32.9% while if we compare it with respect to two years before , there is an increase of 11.9%.
In relation to total mortgages in March, it has increased by 36.7% compared to the same month of 2020. The number of operations has been 46,802 compared to 34,235 in the same month of the previous year, increasing by more than 12,000 operations. If we compare it with the month of March 2019, the increase was 20.6%. Home mortgages also show similar variations, increasing in March 35.8% compared to the same month of 2020, with an also important increase of 22.5% compared to the same period in 2019.
In the section of registered sales and with respect to the same period of the previous year, the evolution since the beginning of the pandemic shows how the recovery lasted until December. 2021 began with slight falls, until reaching this month of March that shows a strong rebound, exceeding 30%.
