29th June 2021Regarding the number of total mortgages in April, they have increased by 31.9% compared to the same month of 2020, being 31.5% in housing mortgages. In number of operations, 41,369 have been registered, compared to 31,363 in the same month of the previous year, which represents an increase of more than 10,000 operations. If compared with the month of April 2019, when 37,697 operations were reached, there is an increase of 9.7%, with 8.8% in those corresponding to housing.
In relation to the annual evolution by CC. AA. Of the total sales in April, there were increases in all territories, especially in the Autonomous City of Melilla (366.7%), Castilla-La Mancha (179.3%), Extremadura (168, 8%), Murcia (134.6%) Navarra (120.7%) Castilla y León (118.6%) and Aragon (112.9%).
Finally, the monthly analysis of the annual evolution of sales and mortgages registered in the property registers during the last twelve months, from May 2020 to April 2021, by comparing with the same month of the previous year, shows the following results :
In the section of registered sales and with respect to the same period of the previous year, the evolution since the beginning of the pandemic shows falls that reached more than 50% in May 2020, beginning then a trend of gradual recovery only interrupted in October, until the month of December. In January and February, the data returned to negative territory, -13.5% and -2.0%, tracing with great force the annual evolution from March, although it was not very significant, due to the comparison with the months of strict confinement during last year. In April of this year there was an increase of 91.0% in total sales, being 65.9% for home sales, always compared to the same month in 2020.
